Our Story...

The idea of beekeeping came while attending a Master Gardener's certification course in 2016. I was encouraged and supported by Ros to go for it. After doing research on beekeeping, I quickly became aware of how essential honeybees are to our existence coupled with the numerous benefits and uses of honey. We wanted to do our part in contributing to the sustainment of mankind. R&B is synonymous with Rhythm and Blues, but for our honey, it's our initials.

Why does honey have various taste?

The taste is based on where the bees collect the pollen and nectar.

Does honey have an expiration date?

Honey can maintain in the liquified state for years.  It will start to granulate if the humidity increases.

Can I give honey to my young baby?

It is not recommended that children below the age of three eat honey.

What time of year is honey harvested in Georgia?

Mid spring until late summer.

What are some of the uses for beeswax?

Beeswax can be used to make candles, lip balm, lotions and hair products just to name a few.

Can you eat the beeswax?

Yes, beeswax is edible, but not recommended.

What happens to the honeybees when the temperature goes to freezing and below?

They form a cluster inside of the hive to keep the queen warm. The temperature around the queen is 93 degrees regardless of the outside temperature.
